Kindle Fire, IPhone 4s, and nook tablet

Amazon kindle fire has been out for a few days and it looks like it is doing well. At $199 it has an attractive price point and has access to the amazon app store and other amazon services.
There also is the nook tablet the successor to the nook color. It costs $50 more than the fire but has more RAM and more souped up space.
The iPhone 4s is still in high demand and most stores are still sold out if you just walk in. It looks like they will be no black Friday deals on the iPhone 4s because of this.
It looks like the three top tablets this holiday season will be the Apple IPad, Kindle Fire, and Nook Tablet.

iPhone 4s and iOS 5

Apple announced the iPhone 4s last Tuesday. It now has support to sprint, a better camera,a5 chip, and a new 64gb model. And it runs ios 5. But the difference between iOS 5 on the 4 vs. the 4s. Is that that 4s has Siri. Siri is voice controls but brought to a human speech level. You can say what's the weather or I'm hungry and Siri will help assist you. You can also use it to send text messages and emails. You can also tell Siri “How many pounds are in a U.S. Dollar" and it will replay the calculation for you. But you can't do everything yet. It won't tell you about flight times or stuff like that. But what it can do is amazing. You can talk to your iPhone like a human being and it will get smarter the more you use it. So basically it's like carrying a personal assistant in your pocket. iOS 5 will be released tommorow October 12. The iPhone 4s will be launched on the 14. I think it will do very well unless its competition can come up with something to rival Siri.

What will apple reveal on Tuesday?

Well obliviously the new IPhone. But the IPhone 4s, IPhone 5, or both? Well the invite they sent had 4 app icons and a one. The one could mean they'll be only one iPhone reavealed. 4 icons plus the one would be the 4s, the one standing for the s. Or it could be 4+1 = iPhone 5? Still it's a mystery. I hope they reveal an iPhone 5 with 64gb for 299 32gb for 249 and 16gb for 199. Now if they so reveal a 4s. It could just be a 8gb iPhone 4 with no updates to internals and then the iPhone 5. That is what they think they'll do. Make a 8gb iPhone 4 as 4s and then the superphone iPhone 5 upgrade.
Anyway only two days away! What do you think they will reveal? Apple really has done a good job covering this up!

Amazon buying WebOS to compete with Apple?

I love ios. In terms of usability and ease of use it's the best and android doesn't even come close to it. But there is one os that does, that is WebOS. Ever since it has been released it has been praised for it's multitasking and ios like design. But it has been kept back by hardware and with HP exiting the hardware business and no company likely to want to license it, the future doesn't look good. Now there has been rumors about Amazon buying WebOS but there saying it's just for the pattents. I hope not. Here is what they should do. Right now they rely heavingly on android but they can drop android from their kindle fire because it is a customized version of it. Then they could customize WebOS for each of their kindles and have all of their apps on it and make an amazon app store for WebOS. Once that is done they could make their own phone to compete with the Iphone. They could even make different screen sizes or a low-end,mid-end,and high end. By keeping WebOS to only amazon hardware (like Palm and HP has done). They have control of both hardware and software and will have there services in it. That is why they have a chance of competing with apple. They have the content, now they just need the hardware and software to do. They are known for making kindles. Hardware check. They buy WebOS. Software check. So that would make them the only company besides apple with control of hardware, software, and content. So if Amazon does buy WebOS, let's hope they use it and maby we'll see a true threat to apple,or if they tried at least we get better Apple products. Ipad Mini anyone?

IPad 2 vs. Kindle Fire My opinion

Amazon announced a few days ago there kindle fire. A kindle for books, music, games, etc. Well it's basically a 7 inch tablet that looks a lot like the Blackberry Playbook and runs a heavily tweaked version of android 2.1 or 2.3. It has no home button and no cameras. Which the iPad has, the thing is it starts at $499. The Fire is just $199. Which means it's a low end tablet. So they're saying that the kindle fire is the first true competition to the iPad. Are they right? First of all they might be in the same market but as I said the kindle fire is low end the iPad high end. So I think the Fire might slightly put a dent in IPad sales but it probably won't last very long (either that or it will just kill every other tablet). Amazon said they might make a bigger version if the Fire is successfully but that would make those who bought the first one mad and if they don't plan on sticking with a 7 inch device why first release one? I think it will sell good until Apple makes an IPad mini. If Apple made an IPad mini for $249 or $299. That will squash the Amazon Fire. The only thing is it might jeaporize the IPod touch. So the price is either going to be higher or they'll make the Touch's price lower. Well I think they have a good tablet on there hands until apple starts to compete with them with the IPad mini. I'll say that it is the best low-cost tablet.
